Situated directly on the renowned Dales Way walking trail, it provides the perfect base for walkers, cyclists, and anyone looking to escape to the tranquillity of the countryside. Accommodating up to four guests and welcoming multiple dogs, this delightful two-bedroom cottage is a wonderful example of a traditional Yorkshire Dales retreat.
Inside, the cottage is brimming with character, featuring original stone floors, traditional stone mullion windows, and a cosy living room centred around a freestanding log burner. The modern, fully equipped kitchen offers all the conveniences needed for a comfortable stay. Upstairs, two spacious bedrooms each feature a king-size bed, while a compact bathroom is conveniently located on the ground floor.
Outside, guests can enjoy a large enclosed garden, ideal for dogs to explore safely, along with private parking for two vehicles. The standout feature is the private hot tub, perfectly positioned on the patio with steps leading down to a decked area overlooking Oughtershaw Beck. With a picnic table and seating, it’s the ideal place to unwind after a day exploring the Dales, listening to the gentle flow of the beck and the birdsong that fills the surrounding countryside.
From the doorstep, a wealth of walking and cycling routes await. Explore Oughtershaw Moor, follow forest tracks towards Low Greenfield, or join the Dales Way as it passes directly by the cottage. The market town of Hawes is just a 20-minute drive away, offering independent cafés, boutique shops, art galleries, and the famous Wensleydale Creamery. Families can also enjoy visiting the neighbouring family-run farm, where friendly resident animals are often happy to say hello.
