Nestled in the picturesque village of Redmire, in the heart of Wensleydale, Croft House is a charming dog-friendly holiday cottage offering a perfect blend of traditional Yorkshire Dales character and modern comfort. Sleeping up to four guests and welcoming up to two dogs, this beautifully presented two-bedroom cottage provides spacious accommodation in an idyllic village setting. Better still, a welcoming dog-friendly village pub is just a minute’s stroll from the front door.
Step inside and you’ll find a warm and inviting dining kitchen at the heart of the cottage. Fully equipped for a comfortable self-catering stay, it features an impressive Rangemaster electric oven and a dining area positioned beside a window overlooking the rear garden and the magnificent backdrop of Penhill. The cosy living room is the perfect place to unwind, with a comfortable L-shaped sofa and a charming log burner creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout the year.
Upstairs, two generously sized bedrooms each offer a king-size bed and plenty of traditional cottage charm. Character features such as exposed beams, gently sloping floors and quirky period details add to the cottage’s unique appeal. The spacious family bathroom is both stylish and practical, featuring a deep bath with shower over, ideal for soothing tired legs after a day exploring the Dales.
Outside, Croft House boasts a delightful south-facing enclosed garden with uninterrupted views across open countryside towards Penhill. Surrounded by attractive borders and a traditional estate wall, the garden provides a peaceful setting for outdoor relaxation. Guests can enjoy al fresco dining with the brick-built barbecue or simply unwind on the much-loved “Gin Bench” while taking in the tranquillity and beautiful scenery.
As with many traditional Yorkshire Dales cottages, Croft House was built long before the arrival of motor vehicles and therefore does not have dedicated off-road parking. However, guests can stop directly outside the cottage on arrival to unload luggage, passengers and dogs, before making use of the ample roadside parking available nearby within the village.
Croft House enjoys an excellent location for exploring some of the Yorkshire Dales’ most popular attractions. Historic Bolton Castle is just a mile away, the stunning Aysgarth Falls can be reached in under four miles, and the vibrant market town of Leyburn is only five miles from the cottage. With beautiful walks, breathtaking scenery and welcoming villages all on the doorstep, Croft House provides the perfect base for a relaxing Yorkshire Dales getaway.
