This beautiful, well-proportioned 17th-century property is full of period charm and has been thoughtfully refurbished to modern standards. It’s ideal for those seeking an “off-grid” feel without sacrificing everyday convenience.
We offer a comfortable, well-equipped home-from-home suitable for families, including well-behaved pets.
Set on the edge of a peaceful, tranquil village within the rural North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this property provides a cosy countryside retreat with open fires, stunning views, and countryside walks right from the doorstep.
The Space
The ground floor features a spacious living room with a log-burning stove set within an inglenook fireplace (logs provided), generous comfortable seating, satellite TV, and a DVD player.
The large kitchen and dining area includes a farmhouse table seating up to six guests, a log-burning kitchen stove, along with a conventional oven, halogen hob, fridge, freezer, and ample storage.
A separate utility/laundry area offers a microwave, dishwasher, Belfast-style butler’s sink, and automatic washing machine.
Also on the ground floor is a bedroom with bunk beds, wardrobe storage, an armchair, a games cupboard, and a well-stocked selection of DVDs. A downstairs shower room includes a shower, WC, and hand basin. The entire ground floor features traditional stone flooring and is heated with night storage heaters for background warmth.
Upstairs, the master bedroom includes a double bed, a large walk-in wardrobe/storage area, and an en-suite WC. A second upstairs bedroom also features a double bed.
To the rear of the property is a secure, walled patio area with a BBQ and outdoor dining set, while the front garden is a traditional cottage-style garden, fully walled and gated, with seating.
