For a change of pace, visit the nearby market town of Helmsley, home to a historic castle, a delightful range of independent shops, inviting cafés, and a variety of excellent places to eat.
The Space
The pod features a bright, open-plan living and sleeping area, complete with a well-equipped kitchenette including a dining table, sink, hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, and microwave. There’s also a comfortable sofa and a Smart TV for relaxing evenings, along with a spacious, modern shower room.
Perfectly positioned to make the most of its surroundings, the pod sits at the end of a farm track on the edge of a grassy field, overlooking the valley and beyond. The Local Area
Located in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Ampleforth, you’ll find everything you need close by, including a well-stocked shop and Post Office, two highly regarded village pubs serving excellent food, and a welcoming coffee shop—perfect for a hearty Yorkshire breakfast. There are also a number of renowned pubs and restaurants within a short drive, some of which boast Michelin stars.
Ampleforth Abbey, home to a community of Benedictine monks since 1802, is within walking distance and open to visitors. Here, you can explore beautiful lakes, woodland trails, and scenic surroundings, or even join a guided tour of the orchards and cider mill to see how the Abbey’s famous cider and brandy are produced. Nearby, Ampleforth College offers access to sports facilities, while within a five-mile radius you’ll find activities such as fishing, pony trekking, golf, cycle hire, and newly opened trails at Sutton Bank National Park Centre.
Just a few miles away lies the charming market town of Helmsley, the only market town within the North York Moors National Park.
