The family bathroom is well-appointed with a bath, separate shower, WC, and basin, catering to all guest needs.

The Local Area

Bridlington is a much-loved East Yorkshire seaside resort, known for its working lobster port, historic 12th-century harbour, and wide sandy beaches. It is also home to the renowned RSPB Bempton Cliffs, popular for birdwatching, as well as the Bridlington Spa entertainment venue, making it a classic British coastal holiday destination.

At the heart of the town’s heritage lies Bridlington Old Town, centred around its medieval Augustinian Priory, founded in 1113. Landmarks such as the surviving Bayle Gate (1388) and Priory Church nave reflect its rich history, while the Georgian and Victorian architecture along the High Street grew from its original market roots. The area famously retains a unique historic charm and has even featured in filming for Dad’s Army.

The Old Town itself offers a peaceful and atmospheric escape, rich in heritage and character. Visitors can wander through its historic streets and alleyways towards the Priory Church, where remnants of Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries in 1537 still echo through time. Once home to one of the largest monastic sites in the North of England, the surviving nave now forms the beautiful Priory Church—stepping inside offers a powerful sense of history.

For those interested in learning more, the Bayle Museum is a must-visit. This Grade I listed building, dating back over 800 years, once served as the gateway to the Priory and now features interactive displays, exhibits, and engaging historical interpretation.

When it’s time to relax, the Old Town offers a range of welcoming cafés and tearooms, including traditional Georgian Tea Rooms serving Yorkshire high tea and homemade meals, alongside cosy pubs offering locally sourced dishes.

You’ll also find a variety of independent antique shops, galleries, and boutiques, perfect for browsing and discovering unique treasures. Bridlington has long attracted artists, drawn by its beautiful coastal light and rich heritage, and its galleries showcase everything from paintings and ceramics to handcrafted jewellery.

Unlike many seaside towns, the Old Town is proudly independent, with very few national chains—offering instead a refreshing and characterful shopping experience full of local charm.
