Beach Retreat is a charming example of a traditional Fisherman’s cottage, dating back to the early 1800s. Nestled in the heart of this historic Norfolk coastal village, it offers easy access to the beach, local shops, pubs, and restaurants.
Step through the quaint brick and flint front courtyard, and the front door opens into a cosy white-and-blue utility room, once the cottage’s original tiny kitchen. This practical space is perfect for storing hats, coats, buckets, and spades, and also houses the freezer and washer/dryer. Throughout the cottage, warm oak flooring adds to the inviting, timeless feel.
Lounge
The lounge at Beach Retreat is a warm and inviting space, furnished with two elegant three-seater Regency green sofas and a cosy hearth rug. Entertainment is provided with a 32-inch HD TV, FreeSat, and a DVD player.
While the cottage benefits from full central heating, an additional multi-fuel stove framed by two traditional storm lanterns adds a charming glow—perfect for curling up in front of, even on a mild Norfolk evening.
Kitchen
From the lounge, you enter the bright, open-plan modern kitchen. Generously sized for four people, it features a double oven, ceramic hob with extractor hood, dishwasher, fridge, and a granite resin sink. The contemporary theme continues with a matching dining table and chairs, creating a stylish space for meals and gatherings.
Cottage Garden
Through the kitchen’s back door, you’ll find a charming Victorian-style cottage garden with parking just beyond. The garden is equipped with a high-quality outdoor dining set and BBQ, ideal for enjoying alfresco dining with a glass of wine on warm summer evenings.
Bathroom (Downstairs)
The freshly redecorated family bathroom is located off the hallway and features twin washbasins, a WC, a large stainless steel towel radiator, and a modern shower-over-bath combination.
Bedrooms
Upstairs, the cottage staircase leads to two inviting bedrooms. The first bedroom is elegantly decorated with a king-size Louis-style bed, oriental bronze and blue bamboo bedding, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, and draped curtains over traditional latch windows.
The second bedroom features a soothing blue-and-white colour scheme with twin beds that can be combined to create a super king-size if needed. The room offers lovely garden views and ample storage, including an oak chest of drawers and wardrobe.
